    Grammy Award-winning musical icon, Janet Jackson will bring TheUnbreakable World Tour to Ascend Amphitheater on September 27. This will be her seventh concert tour. The tour will be in support of her forthcoming eleventh studio album. On May 15, 2015, Jackson announced a new album and world tour and plans to release her forthcoming eleventh album in the fall of 2015 through her own record label, Rhythm Nation Records, distributed by BMG Rights Management. 

    According to sales reports from Live Nation, "88 percent of the tickets on the trek’s first leg (Aug. 31 to Nov. 15) were purchased two weeks after going on sale; nearly 80 percent of the tickets for the second leg (Jan. 12 to March 9) were gone in two days.Due to immediate sell-outs, additional concert dates were added. An American singer, songwriter, and actress, Janet Jackson is known for a series of sonically innovative, socially conscious and sexually provocative records, as well as elaborate stage shows, television and film roles, she has been a prominent figure in popular culture for over 25 years. The youngest child of the Jackson family, she began her career with the varitey television series The Jacksonsin 1976 and went on to appear in other television shows throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, including Good Timesand Fame. 

    Janet ranks as the top artist on the chart with 15 number ones in the past twenty-five years, garnering 27 top ten hits between 1985 and 2001, and 33 consecutive top 40 hits from 1985 through 2004 and the most awarded artist in the history of the Billboard Music Awardswith 33 wins. She is one of an elite group of musical acts, such as Madonna,Aerosmith, Garth Brooks, and Eric Clapton, whomBillboardcredits for "redefining the landscape of popular music.In November 2014, Jackson was voted 'Queen of Pop' by a poll conducted online by VH1.com.
