Article Title: Schermerhorn Symphony Center Presents The Music of Whitney Houston
Article: The Music of Whitney Houston is coming to Schermerhorn Symphony Center on November 6 for a spectacular night of hits. Whitney Houston is the most-awarded female artist of all time, with six GRAMMY® Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards and two Emmy Awards. Broadway sensation Rashidra Scott joins the Nashville Symphony and a full band, complete with horns and backup singers, to pay tribute to this phenomenal singer. Experience all of the hits you know and love as you’ve never heard them before — live, with a symphony orchestra. An American singer, actress, and model, Houston was cited her as the most awarded female act of all time in the Guinness World Records in 2009. She considered one of pop music's best selling music artists of all time with an estimated 170–200 million records sold worldwide. She released seven studio albums and two soundtrack albums, all of which have diamond, multi-platinum, platinum or gold certification. Houston's crossover appeal on the popular music charts, as well as her prominence on MTV, starting with her video for "How Will I Know", influenced several African American women artists who follow in her footsteps. Come hear the hits that made her famous on this special night. For more information regarding the upcoming event or to purchase tickets, visit www.nashvillesymphony.org or call (615) 687-6400.
