Article Title: Motivational Speaker and National Leadership Expert Will Serve As Keynote at the 100 Black Women’s
Sister-for-Sister Conference
Article: The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Metropolitan Nashville Chapter and the Nashville Coalition of 100 Black Women Foundation, Inc. will host the annual Sister-for-Sister Conference and Women of Color Luncheon on Saturday, March 31 from 8:00 a.m. .to 2:00 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn/Nashville/Vanderbilt located at 1715 Broadway. HCA/Tri-Star is this year’s presenting sponsor.
  The theme for this year’s conference is “Transforming Our Lives: Link. Leverage. Lead.” and will feature national leadership expert and motivational speaker, Roslyn Ridgeway.
  A national and international speaker, business owner and community leader, Roslyn speaks her mind and shares her unique perspective, giving people the advice they need to be empowered. An advocate committed to supporting issues that affect working women, Roslyn has spoken around the world empowering thousands with her powerful messages including Tokyo, Liberia and London, to name a few. She is currently chair for the board of trustees for the Business and Professional Women’s Foundation and made history as only the second African-American to serve as national president of the 90-year-old Business and Professional Women/USA. Under her leadership, she launched “Women Joining Forces: Opening Doors, Closing Ranks,” an initiative providing professional development support to women veterans. In addition, Ridgeway is CEO of DeRoz Entertainment, an artist management, entertainment production and promotions firm. She is also founder of the National Council of Women in Entertainment (NCWE).
  A Clark College graduate, Ridgeway will be the finale to a full-day conference assembling knowledgeable speakers, seminars, workshops and other special events which will provide insightful information focused on financial preparedness, personal health management and branding through the use of social media.
  During the popular Women of Color Luncheon, seven outstanding women will vie for the 2012 Davis-Galloway Empowerment Award. In its eighth year, the award recognizes and honors women who ascend to leadership through outstanding advocacy, effective networking and superlative community service.
  Registration to the conference is $65 per person and includes continental breakfast, workshops, access to vendors, conference materials, networking, complimentary health screenings and lunch. A silent auction will also be available.
  The Sister-for-Sister Conference attracts women each year who are looking to improve their personal and professional lives. Participants gain insight and practical tools for enhanced living from speakers with vast knowledge in economics, politics, health care and other hot-button issues.
