Article Title: | The Jackson’s Bring Unity Tour to Music City |
Article: | Nearly three years since Michael died while preparing for his comeback tour, four of his brothers — Marlon, Jermaine, Tito and Jackie — are set for their own return to the stage for the Jackson’s Unity Tour. Following Michael's death, the four brothers appeared in the A&E reality series "The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty," which chronicled their loss and attempt to stage a comeback before their brother died. The brothers have wanted to reunite on their own for years, but after Michael's passing, they needed time to heal — and the tour is another step in that process. They've rearranged their classics to suit their voices, and the group plans to pay tribute to Michael during their shows with a slideshow and medley that will conclude with the tune "Gone Too Soon." The brothers' 15 early-summer dates mark the first time they have been on the road since 1984's "Victory Tour." That was a football-stadium-filling spectacle that included Michael, who was then at the peak of his world domination, thanks to his landmark album, "Thriller," which had been released the previous year. The American popular music family group from Gary, Indiana was influenced by Motown greats such as the Temptations, Supremes, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Little Richard, among many others. Their explosive stage presence and captivating performances, and of course, hit songs also paved the way for other artists including New Edition, New Kids on the Block, N’Sync, Backstreet Boys and Menudo to name a few. The tour will feature the four eldest brothers- Jackie, Jermaine, Tito and Marlon- who will come together in a dynamite performance singing songs that elevated them to the top of the charts.
