Article: | As part of Black History Month, the Music City Soul Series will present a benefit concert to honor the Fisk Jubilee Singers. The event is scheduled on Friday, February 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Fontanel Mansion Studio Gallery. Artist scheduled to perform include Grammy Award-winning blues musician Keb' Mo' along with the Fisk Jubilee Singers, Wynonna, Michael McDonald, THE FARM in addition to other musical guests. The Fisk Jubilee Singers were the first touring group from Music City and the first musical group to tour the world. They began a tradition other musical artists have followed ever since. This is the heritage and legacy of Music City. Join us as we honor this iconic musical institution. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Fisk Jubilee Singers. The benefit concert is part of the Music City Soul Series, a program produced during Black History Month that honors the contributions of African American musicians to Nashville.
