| Article: | The Country Music Marathon & 1/2 Marathon, produced by Competitor Group, will host its 14th annual event. The cause worthy marathon blends running with Nashville’s signature product-music all for a good cause. The event will feature more than 50 bands on 28 stages to entertain runners, walkers, and spectators alike. More music will await at the post-race concert at the Bridgestone Arena. In April of 2000 Nashville hosted the first annual St. Jude's Country Music Marathon & 1/2 Marathon presented by Nissan. The Nashville Sports Council has been a vital partner in the event since its inception and continues to work closely with the Competitor Group to ensure a seamless event every year. The main responsibilities fulfilled annually by the Nashville Sports Council include staffing the Health & Fitness Expo, Race Day, and ING Kids Rock by recruiting over 3,000 volunteers, booking and managing performers throughout the race course, and providing various city services.
