Article Title: 31st Annual African Street Festival Slated for September 20 at Hadley Park
Article: Come enjoy this three-day event celebrating the 31st annual African Street Festival at Hadley Park on September 30. This exciting cultural event brings together African culture, music, food, shopping, concerts, children’s events, fashion, art shows and more designed to showcase some of the unique attributes of the African culture. The event is sponsored by the African American Cultural Alliance which was founded in May of 1983 by African American community members in Nashville who wanted to promote the positive aspects of African culture. The primary goal of the African American Cultural Alliance is to enhance awareness of the cultural and historical background of people of African descent while providing various outlets in which the community can take part in learning more about the culture. The African Cultural Alliance embraces the definition of culture as all material and immaterial things that a people manifests in order to survive, adapt, control and flourish in their environment. For more information regarding this upcoming event, contact the African American Cultural Alliance at (615) 942-0706 or visit aacanashville.org.
